Dr. Malkani is a Neurologist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and a Assistant Professor in the department of Neurology.
Dr. Malkani received his medical degree at the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. After a post-doctoral fellowship at the National Institute on Aging, he completed an internship at Evanston Northwestern Healthcare (now NorthShore University) and a residency in Neurology at Northwestern University. He did fellowship training in Movement Disorders and also in Sleep Medicine at Northwestern University. During his fellowship training, he received a research fellowship award from the American Sleep Medicine Foundation to focus on sleep problems in people with Parkinson’s disease, and he completed a Master’s degree in clinical investigation.
Malkani is known for his expertise in sleep medicine in people with neurodegenerative disorders. He is actively developing clinical and research programs for sleep disorders in people with Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, mild cognitive impairment, and other neurodegenerative disorders.
He is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology, Movement Disorders Society, Parkinson’s Study Group, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, Sleep Research Society, and Illinois Sleep Society.
