Dr. Maganti is a member of the Northwestern Memorial cardiology team with a special interest in valvular heart disease, coronary artery disease and echocardiography.
Dr. Maganti is an Associate professor at the Feinberg School of Medicine and Director of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. She conducts research on valvular heart disease, general echocardiography, and atherosclerosis. Her research initiatives include: 2- and 3-dimensional echo for evaluation of left ventricular geometric changes in valvular heart disease; evaluation of atrial velocities on transesophageal echocardiography; contrast myocardial perfusion; noninvasive evaluation of pulmonary artery systolic pressures, and cardiac outcomes in ischemic stroke population. In addition, Dr. Maganti reviews research materials for the Circulation, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Journal, and the Canadian Heart Journal.
A member of the Northwestern Medicine, Dr. Maganti is also a member of the American Heart Association, American Society of Echocardiography and the American College of Cardiology. In 2009, 2011-2013, she won the outstanding teaching award by Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
Dr. Maganti attended medical school at Guntur Medical College in India, and went on to complete her internship and residency at University of Chicago Hospitals. She completed her cardiology fellowship at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, and a cardiac imaging fellowship at northwestern Memorial Hospital. Dr. Maganti is board certified in Cardiovascular disease, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, as well as Internal Medicine. She speaks Telugu and some Hindi.
