Dr. Bruce Bochner is an allergist & immunologist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and a Professor of Medicine.
He received his MD with honors from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1982, where he also completed his internal medicine internship and his residency training. He then completed his specialty training in Allergy and Immunology at Johns Hopkins University in 1988.
Dr. Bochner was a faculty member in the Division of Allergy and Clinical Immunology at Johns Hopkins from 1988-2013 and was the chief of the division from 2003-2013 before moving to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in the fall of 2013. He is a physician-scientist with numerous NIH and other grants, publications, patents, and awards including those for excellence in mentoring.
He’s an active member of AAAAI, ACAAI, AAI, ASCI, AAP, Glycobiology Society, IES and CIA.
His bibliography includes over 120 peer-reviewed papers and a similar number of reviews, book chapters, and edited books. He is also Editor in Chief for Allergy & Immunology for UpToDate and co-editor of the Middleton’s Allergy Textbook.
