Alan Shepard M.D. is an assistant clinical professor of neurology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and is associated with Chicago Lakeshore Medical Associates, a multi-specialty group practice. Dr. Shepard is board certified in Neurology. He has a comprehensive neurological practice, treating conditions such as headache, neck and back pain, dizziness, dementia, seizures, multiple sclerosis, sleep disorders and stroke.
Dr. Shepard earned his undergraduate pre-medical degree from the University of Michigan. He completed his medical training at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine, where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and served on the admissions committee. He was one of 25 neurologists worldwide recognized for excellence in teaching neurology by the American Academy of Neurology and was recipient of the Medical School Class of 2010 neurology teaching award. He is a member of the Northwestern Memorial Quality Assurance Committee and is a board member of the Global Health Initiative. He is a clinical supervisor of the neurology resident clinic.
