Gary A. Noskin, M.D., serves as the Medical Director of Healthcare Epidemiology and Quality at Northwestern Memorial Hospital as well as a Healthcare Epidemiologist and is an associate professor of medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. In addition, he is director of the Northwestern Epicenter, a CDC sponsored Prevention Epicenter and the Northwestern Center for Patient Safety.
For Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Dr. Noskin is Chairman of the Medication Safety Committee, the Medical Staff Quality Management Committee and the Patient Safety Committee. He is a member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and the Clinical Care Evaluation Committee. He also serves on the board of directors for Northwestern Memorial Home Health Services.
Dr. Noskin completed an internship, residency and fellowship in infectious diseases at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago. He is board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases.
Dr. Noskin has published over 120 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on the subject of infectious diseases and patient safety which have appeared in numerous publications including Archives of Internal Medicine, Clinical Infectious Diseases, Journal of Infectious Diseases, Journal of Clinical Microbiology, Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, and Infection Control and Hospital Epidemiology. Dr. Noskin participates in editorial and review activities for many publications. He is also the editor of a recently published book entitled, Management of Infectious Complications in Cancer Patients.
Dr. Noskin was selected by his peers to be included in the current editions of "The Best Doctors in America" and "The Best Doctors in Chicago". He is a member of numerous national professional organizations and committees and is a Fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America.
