Robert J. Moretti, PhD, completed his undergraduate studies in psychology at Loyola University Chicago. He next earned an M.A. in personality processes at the University of Chicago, while serving as a Research Fellow at the Illinois State Psychiatric Institute. He returned to Loyola University to finish the PhD in clinical psychology. Following this, he completed postgraduate work to earn the diploma in analytical psychology from the C.G. Jung Institute of Chicago.
Dr. Moretti has been on the faculty at Northwestern since 1981, He is the former Director of the program in health psychology in the Division of Psychology, Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, where he also served as Assistant Director of Training in Psychology. Dr. Moretti has had a career-long interest in the applications of hypnosis, meditation, biofeedback, and relaxation training to various disorders. As a psychotherapist, he uses both analytic and cognitive behavioral methods, tailoring the approach to the individual needs of the patient.
