Dr. Herborn is an anesthesiologist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and director of the Cell Saver Program.
Dr. Herborn has a special interest in transesophageal echocardiography and liver transplantation, and has extensive experience in cardiac, vascular, thoracic and transplant anesthesia.
Dr. Herborn is an instructor of anesthesiology at the Feinberg School of Medicine and a member of the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation. His research initiatives include the 2003 Testamur study, which examined special competence in perioperative transesophageal echography.
A past president of the Alpha Chapter of Alpha Omega Alpha, Dr. Herborn received his medical schooling at the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He completed his internship at Columbus Hospital and his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is board certified in anesthesiology.
