Lee Francis, M.D., M.P.H., is President and CEO Erie Family Health Center in Chicago, Illinois. Erie is a safety net community health center serving the West and Northwest Sides of Chicago for over 50 years. He maintains a clinical practice in internal medicine at the health center.
Before training in Primary Care Internal Medicine at Cook County Hospital he attended the University of Illinois College of Medicine (MD, 1988) and Amherst College (BA, 1983). Dr. Francis joined Erie in 1991 as a staff physician and was appointed to the medical staff at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He was Erie's medical director from 2001-2007. As Erie's President and CEO he directs a staff of 320 employees who provide primary health care services to over 33,000 patients through 133,000 annual patient visits at 9 service locations. He is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine, a volunteer position, at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He received his Masters Degree in Public Health from the University of Illinois, Chicago in 2000.
