Dr. Sangeeta Bhorade is an internationally recognized expert in the field of lung transplantation. She is an active member of working committees of national organizations committed to advancing the science and practice of lung transplantation, and has authored guidelines in the management of advanced lung diseases and complications after lung transplantation. She is a prolific writer with many other publications to her name, and is frequently an invited speaker at both national and international conferences. She is also on the editorial board of two journals, and has received private and public sector funding for her research work. Her research interest is focused on the optimization of immunosuppression in lung transplantation to improve clinical outcomes. She is currently studying predictors for chronic rejection following lung transplantation, which takes a major toll on long-term survival.
